Promo codes or gift codes are applied at checkout when placing a donation. See below for the most common error messages when trying to check out, and how to address them:
"Sorry! This promo code isn't eligible for the portion of your donation made with credits or a gift card."
Promotional codes are typically only eligible to use with "cash" donations, including those made my credit/debit card and PayPal. This error message means you may not apply this promotional code to a gift made with account credits or a gift card.
Due to processing times, donations made with checks are also ineligible for promotional codes.
"Sorry, you cannot use promotional gift cards to purchase other gift cards."
Certain partner gift codes cannot be used to purchase other gift cards, in addition to Pre-Funding donations, Classroom Essentials lists, or school-level gifts. If you receive this error message, please use your gift code on a live classroom project instead.
“This gift code is limited to 1 per person"
Occasionally, we distribute gift codes from campaigns that are limited to 1 per person. Gift codes are non-transferrable, so if you received a code from a friend, please have that friend redeem the code him/herself. Please do not use multiple email addresses or open new donor accounts to redeem additional codes.
