We have a few different types of codes that both donors and teachers can use on our site! See below for a breakdown of each kind of code available and how to use them.
Gift Code
Gift codes are 10 digits (XXXX-XXXX) and can be applied at checkout when placing a donation. A gift code is a digital version of a gift card, and holds a transferable credit that can be used on classroom projects or lists. Gift codes can be used by teachers or donors when placing a donation.
Promo Code
Promo codes often include a word (like LIFTOFF) and can be applied at checkout when placing a donation. These codes typically boost a donation in some way, like matching a donation up to a certain dollar amount. Promo codes can be used by teachers or donors when placing a donation.
Campaign Code
Campaign codes (typically a word or phrase like NEWYORK) can be added by a teacher during project creation on the HI page of a project draft. Campaign codes are a way to tell our site that a project is intended for a specific opportunity, like a funding offer or pilot. Campaign codes are used by teachers only.
Personal Campaign Code
Personal campaign codes are a sequence of numbers and letters (T-XXXXXXXXXX) that function similarly to regular campaign codes, but are unique to individual teachers' accounts. Personal campaign codes cannot be shared or transferred, and they must be redeemed through a unique landing page (not during project creation or check out) that is shared directly with eligible teachers. Personal campaign codes are used by teachers only, and they will only take effect if an eligible project is either already created or subsequently created after applying the code.
