We’re celebrating birthdays in our community in a brand new way: a BIRTHDAY promo code that matches donations on your special day! If you have a live project on your birthday, you might see this special banner on your project page while funds last:
Your donors can enter the code BIRTHDAY to get their donations matched all day long during your birthday.
A maximum of $249 per donor can be matched using this promo code, per school year from July 1st until June 30th of the following year. Once a donor has reached the maximum, they can no longer apply the promo code to donations until the next school year. For example, if a donor uses the promo code on $249 worth of donations on May 4th 2024, then they will not be able to use the promo code again until July 1st, 2024.
FAQs on the BIRTHDAY promo code
Q: Can I use BIRTHDAY on projects in friends and family pre-funding?
A: Your BIRTHDAY promo code will only work on live projects. As long as your project is live and approved on DonorsChoose, you’ll be able to use your BIRTHDAY promo code on your birthday. (We aren’t able to guarantee a project submitted on your birthday will be approved in time, so we recommend taking advantage of this promo code by fundraising on your projects that are already live!)
Q: Can the BIRTHDAY promo code be used with other match offers?
A: If your project qualifies for a different match offer, it won’t be eligible for the BIRTHDAY promo code. Only projects with no live match offer will receive the code.

A: This promo code first launched in June 2019.
Q: Can the BIRTHDAY promo code be used with account credits?
A: The BIRTHDAY promo code cannot be used when donating with account credits or gift codes. It will only apply to donations made by credit card or paypal.
