Starting October 10, 2025, qualifying projects will receive a one-time donation of $750, while funds last.
If your project meets the criteria below, the one-time donation will appear once it is approved and live on the site.
How to qualify:
- Be a classroom teacher at a Delaware Department of Education public school.
- Request items to increase literacy for your students and select Literacy as one of your subjects. Please ensure accurate representation and select the corresponding subject area only if it aligns with your project. Click here to find recommended literacy resources curated by Delaware classroom teachers. When reviewing those resources, be sure to check out the respective tabs (listed below) for all the areas you teach:
General Literacy, DLI, PreK/K, World Language, Health Education, SEL, Secondary ELA, Physical Education, Psychology, AP World History, 9th Grade Civics, Visual & Performing Arts, K-3 Social Studies, Science Resources
- If needed, you may request resources from Special Request vendors. Please be advised that this option may take more time to complete, and you may need to contact our team to adjust your account to allow you to do this.
- Request $750 or less for your total project goal, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose. You can request up to $1,000 for your total project goal, but you’ll need to fundraise for donations beyond the $750 one-time donation. Projects with a total project goal of $750 or less will be fully funded.
What won’t qualify:
- Projects requesting resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will not qualify for this donation.
- Projects requesting Professional Development or virtual trips/visitors will not qualify for this donation.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Is there a limit to how expensive my project can be to qualify for this funding opportunity? ▼
This one-time donation only applies to projects with a total project goal under $1,000, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose. Anything over the total project goal will not qualify for this one-time donation. Shipping charges may vary and the suggested donation amount can't be removed from a project's total goal. While you cannot remove the suggested donation, donors can choose to opt-out of giving a portion of their donation to DonorsChoose.
Q: How can I ensure that my project is fully funded by the one-time donation? ▼
Your project’s total goal must be lower than the $750 one-time donation amount. The total project goal is shown on your project as you’re carting materials. If your total project goal is higher than $750, your project will require additional funding from the DonorsChoose community in order to be fully funded and receive materials.
Q: How can I edit my project? ▼
If your project has not received any donations, you can make any edits by returning your project to draft status. You can do this by heading over to the Projects section of your account and clicking on the "Return project to draft" button underneath your project title. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it. Then, it will be re-screened by our team and re-posted if eligible. Read more about editing your project.
Q: Do Essentials Lists qualify for this funding opportunity? ▼
No. Donations placed to an Essentials list will not be matched by this funding opportunity. Essentials lists are currently not eligible to receive matching donations from any funding opportunity. You can read more about Classroom Essentials in our Help Center.
Q: What happens to the materials purchased through this project if I leave my school? ▼
The materials, which will be property of your school, will be shipped to your school for use with your students. If you would leave employment, the materials would remain with the school for future students’ benefit.
