How to remove photos on your account

A vibrant and compelling classroom photo, along with a personal and professional profile photo, is the first step to attracting potential donors to your project! But we know that you might want to constantly update and change these photos on your account. Here's how:

How to remove your classroom photo

Our donors tell us that the unique appeal of DonorsChoose.org is the opportunity to see and directly hear from a classroom in need. That's why we require all teachers to have a classroom photo in their account before creating a project request. While you can't actually "remove" your photo, you can easily replace it with another.

Read our classroom photo guidelines, then follow these steps to change your photo:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click on "Teaching details."
  3. Click the "Change photo" option just below your current classroom photo.
  4. Review the guidelines on the Photo Upload Page, then use the section at the bottom to upload your new photo.
  5. Read through our Terms of Agreement and confirm that you agree by checking off each box.
  6. Click "Upload," and you're done!

If your new photo does not appear immediately, refresh the page after a few minutes, and it should show up. If you check back 48 hours later and your new photo still has not appeared, see our photo upload troubleshooting tips!

How to remove your profile photo

Lots of teachers love having a profile photo that gives donors a sense of who they are. But your profile photo is an optional part of your profile--you can definitely omit it, if you’d like! Here’s how you can take down your profile photo:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Click on “Teaching details.”
  3. Click the blue "Edit" button under your profile photo.
  4. Click "Remove photo."

That’s it! Your profile photo is now removed from your profile and all of your projects. You can always upload a new one by selecting the blue plus sign again on the Teaching details tab.
