Project requests containing live animals (such as frogs, butterflies, ant farms, or tadpoles) will be fulfilled either directly or via a redemption voucher, depending on the vendor.
If the live animal request if from Carolina Biological:
After confirming your fully funding project, you will be mailed a physical voucher from Carolina Biological, which you can then use to redeem the specific resource at your convenience. Since the live items will be shipped separately after redeeming the voucher, you can select an immediate order date when confirming your project, or an order date that best fits any other items in your project request.
Vouchers will be shipped to your school mailing address on file. You can see an example of a living resources voucher here. Redemption instructions are included, and redeeming a voucher will include all shipping costs.
If it has been over three weeks since your project order(s) were placed and you have not received a voucher, please contact our team so that we can follow up with the vendor on your behalf.
If the live animal request if from any other vendor (Amazon, etc.):
Your items will be sent as a regular vendor shipment. When confirming your fully funded project, select an order date that aligns with your school's opening schedule (for example, if your school is on or approaching a school break, select an order date for when you have returned).
