DonorsChoose is monitoring the impact of Hurricane Ian on teachers and students in affected communities across Florida.
What schools have been damaged?
We are temporarily holding orders in select Florida counties as we learn more about Hurricane Ian’s impact on schools. If you know of a public school that has sustained severe damage, please submit a report to our team. We'll begin sending orders again as soon as we've verified that materials can be delivered.

How did teachers whose classrooms were impacted by the storm get support?
As of October 23rd, our 3X match offer has ended for the FEMA-designated disaster counties.
How can donors support the effort?
DonorsChoose has created a recovery fund to help teachers and students in communities affected by Hurricane Ian.
You can make a donation to the Hurricane Ian Recovery Fund that will be applied to classroom projects in communities impacted by the storm. Every dollar donated through the fund will be used to support classrooms and get them the resources they need so that students can get back to learning.
Once teachers begin creating hurricane-related projects in the coming weeks, we will display them on the recovery page so that you may directly support affected classrooms.
