For the month of October, in collaboration with DonorsChoose.org, Chevron, Sunshine Gasoline Distributors, and Kent Kwik Convenience Stores are fueling classroom projects up to a total of $150,000 for public schools in Miami-Dade County, Florida (up to $100,000 with Sunshine Gasoline Distributors) and Midland and Odessa, Texas (up to $50,000 with Kent Kwik Convenience Stores).
If your project meets the criteria below, you may receive a one-time donation of up to $1000, beginning October 5, while funds last.
To be eligible for a chance at funding:
- Post a new project on or after October 1, 2026. Projects posted or approved prior to this date will not be eligible for funding.

Teach in at a DonorsChoose eligible school in one of the following geographic areas:
- Midland Independent School District, Texas
- Odessa, Texas
- Miami-Dade County, Florida
- Request under $1000 for your total project goal, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose. This is about $750 worth of materials. Projects with a total project goal higher than $1000 will not qualify.

Because projects will be custom selected for support, receiving this donation is not guaranteed. To be considered for selection, be sure your project and school fit the above eligibility criteria.
Q: When will I know if I receive the donation?
Selected projects will be funded on a weekly basis between October 5 and November 9, 2026.
Q: Can I receive funding on multiple projects?
No. Only one project per teacher will be eligible for the chance of funding.
Q: How is information gathered about my school?
We receive our school data from a third party vendor called MDR. You can find out your school’s designation by visiting your school page through your teacher profile page.

Q: How can I edit my project?
If your project has not received any donations, you can make any edits by returning your project to draft status. You can do this by heading over to the Projects section of your account and clicking on the "Return project to draft" button underneath your project title. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it. Then, it will be re-screened by our team and re-posted if eligible. Read more about editing your project.
