Beginning April 13th, qualifying projects will receive a 2X match on new donations, while funds last. That means a $20 donation will receive a matching $20 donation to become a total donation of $40, and so on.
If your project meets the criteria below, new donations on your project will be doubled as long as funding remains, or through April 17th (whichever comes first). Once your project is approved and live on the site, you will see the match offer displayed on your project page.
How to qualify:
- Create a project requesting STEAM materials.

Q: Where do I select subject areas for my project?
Subject areas are selected during project creation, at the bottom of the WHY page of your draft. You may select up to two relevant subject areas.
Q: Are all STEAM projects matched at once, or are certain subject areas matched per day?
While we are celebrating individual subject areas on each day of this week, all STEAM projects (regardless of specific eligible subject area) will be matched beginning April 13th through April 17th, or until funds run out (whichever comes first).
Q: Are there any restrictions on which donations are doubled?
Credit card, PayPal, account credit, and gift card donations to live projects are eligible for this match. Donations made directly to schools are not eligible for this match offer. Donations via check and donor-advised fund (DAF) will not be multiplied due to processing time. Previous donations placed before the match offer’s start date and time will not be multiplied. Please note, the match offer is not active for donations during Friends and Family Pre-Funding (the period when our team is reviewing projects).

Q: What if I already have a STEAM project? Will it qualify or do I have to post a new one?
As long as your project uses one of the STEAM subject areas, it will qualify for the match.
Q: Why am I not seeing the match offer on my project?
The match will only appear after 9:00 AM ET on April 13th. If your project isn’t yet approved, the match offer will not be applied until after approval by our screening team. Please note, the match offer will not appear during Friends and Family Pre-Funding (the period after you’ve submitted a project but before our team has reviewed your project).
Q: How can I edit my posted project?
If your project has not received any donations, you can make any edits by returning your project to draft status. You can do this by heading over to the Projects section of your account and clicking on the "Return project to draft" button underneath your project title. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it. Then, it will be re-screened by our team and re-posted if eligible. Read more about editing your project.
Q: Do Essentials Lists qualify for this funding opportunity?
