Starting December 4th, qualifying projects will receive funding of $1,000, while funds last.
If your project meets the criteria below, the funding will appear once it is approved and live on the site.
How to qualify:
- You have already received a personal code directly from the AIM Early Reading Success program.
- Create a teacher profile on DonorsChoose.
- Apply your personal code on the landing page: https://www.donorschoose.org/aim.
- Create a project requesting materials that are for teaching or implementing the AIM Early Reading Success program in your classroom. Select one of the subject areas underneath the main LITERACY & LANGUAGE category. Please ensure accurate representation and select the corresponding subject area only if it aligns with your project.
- Request under $1,000 for your total project goal, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose. Projects with a total project goal higher than $1,000 will not qualify. This is about $850 worth of materials.
- Submit your project for approval by January 25th, 2026. Our team of reviewers will verify your project for approval. This process normally takes a few days so we recommend getting your project submitted soon. Projects not approved before January 31st, 2026 will not qualify.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How do I add materials to my DonorsChoose project or edit my subject area? ▼
Watch this short video that guides you through the process of adding an item to your project and updating your project’s subject area. AIM will distribute the code to you via email.
Q: How will I receive my personal campaign code? ▼
AIM will distribute the code to you via email.
Q: When will my funding appear on my project? ▼
The funding will appear once your submitted project is reviewed and approved by our volunteer team.
Q: Can I utilize this funding across multiple projects? ▼
No. Your funding will only be applied to a single project. Please maximize your project to get the most supplies! If you submit multiple projects, the first eligible project will receive the funding. The remaining funds will not be available for you to use on another project.
If your first eligible project uses less than the maximum amount (e.g. $500), then the remainder can not be used on a second project.
Q: Is there a limit to how expensive my project can be to qualify for this funding opportunity? ▼
This funding opportunity only applies to projects with a total project goal under $1,000, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose. Anything over the total project goal will not qualify. Shipping charges may vary and the suggested donation amount can't be removed from a project's total goal. While you cannot remove the suggested donation, donors can choose to opt-out of giving a portion of their donation to DonorsChoose.
Q: Why does my project need to be reviewed? ▼
Our team of volunteers will review your project to ensure that no compromising information is accidentally submitted, and that the items that you’re requesting match the descriptions within your project.
Q: How can I edit my project? ▼
If your project has not received any funding, you can make any edits by returning your project to draft status. You can do this by heading over to the Projects section of your account and clicking on the "Return project to draft" button underneath your project title. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it. Then, it will be re-screened by our team and re-posted if eligible. Read more about editing your project.
Q: Do Essentials Lists qualify for this funding opportunity? ▼
No. Essentials Lists, which are different from projects, are not eligible for this funding opportunity. You must create a project for your personal campaign code to be applied. You can read more about Classroom Essentials in our Help Center.
