Update 02/08/21: Funding for this match is running low. We anticipate all funding will be applied to eligible projects within the next week. If you have a project idea in the works, submit as soon as possible for the best chance to receive matched donations!
---------------------------------------
What kind of match?
Starting August 6th, all qualifying projects will receive a 2X match. That means a $20 donation will become a $40 donation.
If your project meets the criteria below, new donations on your project will be matched as long as funding remains. You will see the match offer applied to your project as soon as it is approved and live on the site. Please note, the match offer will not appear during Friends and Family Pre-Funding.
How to qualify:
- When creating your project, shop from our newest vendor MahoganyBooks.
- Request copies of the book Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson. The following versions of the book are available at MahoganyBooks, and are eligible for this match:
- Keep your total project goal under $1,200, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose.
What won’t qualify:
- You cannot request materials from any vendor other than MahoganyBooks to be eligible for this match offer.
- You must request the book Just Mercy from MahoganyBooks to be eligible for this match offer. Projects requesting Just Mercy from other vendors do not qualify.
With thanks to the Equal Justice Initiative
At EJI, we want to help educators equip a new generation with the tools and knowledge they need to understand and eliminate racism, bigotry, and inequality. We’re proud to partner with DonorsChoose and support teachers who are helping students understand our criminal justice system and the legacy of racial injustice.
