Updated February 11, 2022
In-person Class Trip and Class Visitor projects are unavailable until further notice, due to high rates of rescheduling and cancellations as a result of COVID-19. You can still submit a virtual class trip or visitor project!
We’ve removed this project option to ensure the safety of our community and to reduce the number of projects that need to be postponed or canceled as travel plans remain uncertain. We’re doing our best to follow the lead of the nation's experts when it comes to student and teacher safety.
What does this mean?
When creating a project, you’ll have the option to choose a Virtual Class Trip or Virtual Class Visitor. You will no longer have the ability to create a trip or visitor project that involves an in-person component. This includes any project that requires travel on the part of teachers or students.
What types of visitors or experiences can I request?
You can check out some of the fantastic virtual trips and visitors that other teachers are requesting on our blog!
While many virtual experiences (both professional development and student learning) are eligible as long as they meet project eligibility requirements, we are unable to post projects for virtual experiences and resources from Get Your Teach On.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are in-person trip and visitor projects paused?
We want to make sure that the safety of our teachers and students is always a priority. While some communities have been able to re-open , we know that situations are frequently fluctuating. This year we’re focused on supporting teachers and students’ return to the classroom, and will not support in-person trip or visitor projects until a time when event planning is more stable and reliable.
What if the trip I wanted to take is still taking place or has been rescheduled to a later date?
You will not be able to fundraise for these trips on DonorsChoose at this time.
