Starting on May 27th, 2020, Class Trip and Class Visitor projects are unavailable until at least Spring 2021.
We’ve removed this project option to ensure the safety of our community and to reduce any potential risk for our teachers and students. This is a temporary change in reaction to the coronavirus pandemic.
What does this mean?
You will no longer have the ability to create a trip or visitor project that involves an in-person component. This includes any project that requires travel on the part of teachers or students. The Class Trip or Class Visitor project type is no longer available when creating a new project.
What types of visitors or experiences can I request?
You can post a project for a virtual or online experience for you or your students. If you have a virtual trip in mind, you can submit it as a Special Request project.
When submitting your Special Request, make sure that the online event or course you or your students are attending is occurring at least 2 months in the future, and no more than 8 months in the future. When submitting your project, you’ll also need to include a link to the website of the virtual experience or payment document that shows the exact cost and dates.

What about my fully funded trip or visitor project?
If you have a fully funded trip or visitor project that you have yet to attend, you’ll be hearing from our Fulfillment team in the first or second week of June. Our team is still dedicated to bringing the spirit of your project to life.
If you or your students have already attended your class trip or visitor project, you still need to complete your Thank-You Package. You can view instructions directly within your account, or by heading to our help center.
What if the trip I wanted to take is still taking place or has been rescheduled to a later date?
You will not be able to fundraise for these trips on DonorsChoose at this time.
What about my Professional Development project?
Any project that involves an in-person or travel element cannot be posted on DonorsChoose at this time. If you’re interested in attending an online or virtual conference or other Professional Development experience, you can create a Special Request project.
