We know that the coronavirus (COVID-19) could impact your ability to complete your thank-you package. We’ve made some changes to thank-you package requirements to accommodate this uncertain school year.
Impact letter and photos
Check out some tips about how to share your project’s impact on your students even if your school is closed.
We’ve expanded the photos you can submit for your thank-you package. We’d love to see photos of your students (no close-ups, though!), your materials, student artwork, or handwritten notes from your students - whatever you think will be most impactful for your donors! You can upload up to 10 photos for your thank-you package. We’ve got some tips for taking photos if you’re teaching remotely, or don’t have access to your students.
When you upload thank-you package photos, you’ll be asked to check-off a box that says you’ve gathered permission slips from your student’s parents to upload their photos.
- Ask parents to print, sign, and scan our permission slip
- Or, you can use an electronic document signature service - many are free to use!
If you’re unable to get permission from your students’ parents, you can check out some alternative ideas for showing your donors how resources are being used!
Handwritten student thank-you notes
Beginning on March 20, 2020, donors will no longer have the opportunity to opt-in to receiving student thank-yous. You will still be asked to complete an impact letter and upload photos for your fully funded project.
Any student thank-yous sent to our office after March 2020 won’t be marked received until we have access to our office building again. If you have remaining student thank-yous, you can send them as normal (using the business reply label in your account) and your notes will not be considered late.
If you cannot complete your impact letter
Contact us if you cannot complete your impact letter or photos and we will waive your requirement. You can also request a due date extension for your thank-you package through our contact form. You will not be penalized for either action.
