We know that the coronavirus (COVID-19) could impact your ability to complete your thank-you package. We’ve made some changes to thank-you package requirements to accommodate this uncertain school year.
Handwritten student thank-you notes
Beginning on March 20, 2020, donors will no longer have the opportunity to opt-in to receiving student thank-yous. You will still be asked to complete an impact letter and upload photos for your fully funded project.
Any student thank-yous sent to our office after March 2020 won’t be marked received until we have access to our office building again. If you have remaining student thank-yous, you can send them as normal (using the business reply label in your account) and your notes will not be considered late.
While student thank-you notes are not currently required, if you’re interested in showing some extra gratitude for your donors, we’re piloting optional digital student thank-yous.
Impact letter and photos
Check out some tips about how to share your project’s impact on your students even if your school is closed.
You can get creative about how you collect photos of your students using the materials. You may consider asking parents/guardians to send you photos of students using the materials. If you use video conferencing to facilitate distance learning using your materials, take screenshots!
When you upload thank-you package photos, you’ll be asked to check-off a box that says you’ve gathered permission slips from your student’s parents to upload their photos.
- Ask parents to print, sign, and scan our permission slip
- Or, you can use an electronic document signature service - many are free to use!

If you cannot complete your thank-you package
