Every project posted on DonorsChoose includes dozens of structured data points, from the geographic location of the school, to whether or not the materials requested are for repeated use.
In line with our mission, we are committed to protecting the privacy of the students and teachers we serve. In select, rare cases, and in collaboration with the DonorsChoose Trust & Safety and Data Science and Analytics teams, we make segments of our data without any personally identifiable information available to academic researchers and select partners.
The purpose of sharing our data in these instances is one or more of the following:
- To move toward our vision of students in every community having what they need to learn
- To improve our offerings for teachers, donors, and partners
- To generate donations for projects on our site
If you are a researcher and your proposed project meets one of the above criteria, please send a brief proposal and your credentials to John Choi at research-requests@donorschoose.org.
