As part of their Drive Bigger Event, Volkswagen is sharing $20 DonorsChoose.org donation cards (which you’ll see on our site as gift cards or gift codes) with Volkswagen dealerships across America to distribute to customers. Customers can use the donation t card to support a classroom basics project of their choice (think pencils and notebooks, organizational tools, and classroom decorations).
We are energized by the enthusiasm this partnership has already drummed up, and we want to make sure teachers and donors alike have all the info they need to get and use their donation cards effectively. See below for a handy FAQ!
Q1: How do I get a DonorsChoose.org donation card from my local Volkswagen dealership?
A1: The availability and distribution of the donation cards is at the discretion of the individual dealership. Remember: Spreading the word about your individual project with your local dealer is awesome. They may be able to support you through their own local marketing initiatives. However, we don't recommend reaching out to your local dealership to ask for donation cards, as they're intended for prospective Volkswagen customers.
Q2: Do I have to buy a car to get a donation card?
A2: No! You don’t have to make a purchase to receive a card. Donation cards are being distributed at the discretion of the individual dealerships and are intended for Volkswagen customers, ie donors and teachers alike.
Q3: I went to my local Volkswagen dealership, and they didn’t have any donation cards. What should I do?
A3: Volkswagen has distributed a finite number of donation cards to dealers to use in their local marketing efforts (amounts vary by dealer). Since dealers have a limited number of donation cards, the dealer might run out of donation cards before a customer visits the dealership to learn more about the program.
