Celebrating the most innovative teachers on February 28!

Fast Company just named DonorsChoose.org one of 2019’s Most Innovative Companies — so we’re celebrating the world’s most innovative teachers!

Charles Schwab Foundation matching donations on financial literacy professional development projects, starting November 13, 2018

Update 2/12/2019: Funding for this match is running low. We anticipate all funding will be applied to eligible projects within the next 2 weeks. If you have a project idea in the works, submit as soon as possible for the best chance to receive matched donations!

Charles Schwab Foundation’s primary focus is to provide people with tools to help improve their finances and their lives—whether they're just starting out or nearing retirement.

Charles Schwab Foundation is offering this 2X Match to support teachers seeking deeper knowledge in financial education so they create innovative financial literacy projects in their classrooms. Let’s work together to help kids everywhere achieve a brighter financial future!

How to qualify:

  • Create a professional development project requesting resources that will increase your financial literacy as an educator and aid you in teaching financial literacy to your students. Be specific in how you intend to bring your new financial literacy knowledge to your classroom in new and innovative ways!
  • You can request books or other material resources that would improve your understanding of financial literacy or certifications that might give you the opportunity to teach financial literacy at your school.
  • If you would like to attend a conference that is specifically centered around financial literacy, please fill out this form. If your conference qualifies, Charles Schwab Foundation will donate to your project. All other trips (like general professional development conferences, for example) are not eligible for this match.
  • Computers, laptops, and tablets will not be eligible for this match. Instructional technology to help you improve your knowledge of financial literacy, like software or online courses, is eligible for this match.
  • Keep your total project goal under $1,250, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose.org.
  • Select Financial Literacy as your subject area.

What kind of match?

All qualifying projects will receive a 2X Match. That means a $20 donation will become a $40 donation.

If your project meets the criteria above, new donations on your project will be matched as long as funding remains. You will see the match offer applied to your project as soon as it is approved and live on the site. Please note, the match offer will not appear during Friends and Family Pre-Funding.
