Thanks to support from corporate and citizen donors who gave through the Hurricane Florence recovery fund, we’re able to fund projects to help teachers and students get the supplies they need to get back to learning.
As projects are funded, they’ll be added to the Hurricane Florence Recovery Fund page. These projects are from schools that experienced physical damage from the storm or are in affected communities.
How are you funding classrooms?
We’re applying recovery funds to projects from schools that experienced significant damage during the hurricane, or are in affected communities and requesting resources to help recover from the storm.
My classroom was damaged by the storm. How can I get support?
You can create a project for the supplies you need to rebuild your classroom (if you don’t yet have an account on DonorsChoose.org, get started here). It helps to describe within your project the impact of the hurricane at your school. We’re prioritizing supporting projects in schools that have sustained damage from the storm.
My school wasn’t damaged directly, but my community was affected. Do I qualify for support?
We’ve recently been able to expand funding support to schools that were not physically damaged, but are in affected communities and still need to recover. When posting your project, be sure to include mention of the hurricane’s impact on your community and your students, and how your project will support getting your students back to learning.
Shipping has resumed to all affected districts.
