Update 5/10/18: Funding for this opportunity has been fully applied to eligible projects and the match offer is no longer available.

Update 5/9/18: Funding for this opportunity is running low. We anticipate all funding will be applied to eligible projects within the next 24 hours, so now is the best time to spread the word to your donors!

To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and all that classroom STEM innovators do every day, General Motors is showing their appreciation by matching donations to STEM projects from schools where at least half of students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.  Starting on Teacher Appreciation Day, donations to STEM projects at qualifying schools will be matched dollar-for-dollar while funding lasts!  General Motors is proud to support teachers who are inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians in every community.

Here’s how to qualify:

  • At least half of your students are from low income households.  See more about how we define economic need on DonorsChoose.org.
  • Create a project requesting resources or experiences to engage your students in STEM.  If you already have a live project, that’s great, too!
  • Keep your total project goal under $2,000, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose.org.
  • Select a subject under Math & Science.

If your project meets the criteria above, you should see the match offer applied to your project as soon as it’s approved and live on the site (however, it won’t appear during Friends and Family Pre-funding). New donations will be matched one-to-one as long as funding remains.
