5X Impact on financial literacy books and games, thanks to Charles Schwab Foundation

Update 4/2/18: Funding for this match offer has been fully applied to eligible projects and is donations will no longer be matched. We are thrilled to see all of the amazing projects created to promote financial literacy in the classroom! We will update this page if additional funding becomes available.

Charles Schwab Foundation is committed to transforming lives through financial education starting at an early age. In preparation for Financial Literacy Month in April, Charles Schwab Foundation wants to help you build a full classroom library of games and books to teach your students about financial literacy.  With this 5X impact, donations to your qualifying project will be matched 4:1  ($4 for every $1 donation) thanks to Charles Schwab Foundation’s support.

Here’s how to qualify:

  • Create a project requesting educational kits & games and/or books that teach about financial literacy.
  • Keep your total project goal under $1,000, including taxes, shipping, fees, and the suggested donation to support DonorsChoose.org.  Teachers can access up to $3,000 from this opportunity across multiple projects.
  • Select Financial Literacy as your subject (located in the History & Civics category).

Create your project

If your project meets the criteria above, you should see the match offer applied to your project as soon as it’s approved and live on the site (however, it won’t appear during Friends and Family Pre-funding). New donations will be matched four-to-one as long as funding remains.
