On May 7th starting at 9am ET, qualifying projects will receive a 2X match on new donations, while funds last. That means a $20 donation will become a $40 donation, and so on.
If your project meets the criteria below, new donations on your project will be doubled as long as funding remains. Once your project is approved and live on the site, you will see the match offer displayed on your project page.
How to qualify:
- Teach in a Texas school.
- Create a project requesting books for your students.
- If your project’s total cost of materials is mostly books (51%+), then your project will contain the “Books” tag.
What won’t qualify:
- Audiobooks
- Tonies
- Sheet Music
- Coloring Books
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Why don’t I see the “Books” tag on my project which has books in it?
The majority of your project’s cost must be for items categorized as books. If you have added other items that cost more than your books, then your project will not qualify.
Eligible Example:
You have ten items in your project cart: nine (9) books that each cost $20 and two (2) folders that each cost $10. The books cost $180 and the folders cost $20. Because your books are a majority of your project’s cost, your project will be categorized as books.
Ineligible Example:
You have three items in your project cart: two (2) books that cost $20 and one (1) bookshelf that costs $200. Because the bookshelf is the majority of your project’s cost, your project will be categorized as storage—not books, despite there being more books.
Q: Are there any restrictions on which donations are doubled?
All new donations to live projects are eligible for this match. Previous donations placed before the match offer's start date will not be doubled.
Q: How can I edit my posted project?
If your project has not received any donations, you can make any edits by returning your project to draft status. You can do this by heading over to the Projects section of your account and clicking on the "Return project to draft" button underneath your project title. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it. Then, it will be re-screened by our team and re-posted if eligible. Read more about editing your project.
