Starting February 19, 2025, qualifying projects will receive a 2X match on new donations. That means a $20 donation will become a $40 donation, and so on.
If your project meets the criteria below, new donations on your project will be matched as long as funding remains. Once your project is approved and live on the site, you will see the match offer displayed on your project page.
How to qualify:
- You’re a teacher located in one of the Hurricane Helene FEMA counties in North Carolina OR the following Equity Focus California counties:
Eligible North Carolina counties: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Cherokee, Clay, Cleveland, Forsyth, Gaston, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Iredell, Jackson, Lee, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mecklenburg, Mitchell, Nash, Polk, Rowan, Rutherford, Stanly, Surry, Swain, Transylvania, Union, Watauga, Wilkes, Yancey
Eligible California counties: If your county is listed, your school must also be listed as an Equity Focus School to qualify: Is my school an Equity Focus School?: Colusa, Glenn, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Placer, San Joaquin, Sacramento, Shasta, Solano, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Yolo, Butte, Yuba, Marin, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Alameda, San Francisco, Napa, Santa Clara, Sonoma
- Create a project requesting food, clothing, or hygiene items your students need to stay safe, healthy, and warm this winter and select the Warmth, Care & Hunger subject area. Please ensure accurate representation and select the corresponding subject area only if it aligns with your project. You can find more information about Warmth, Care & Hunger projects here.
Examples of Warmth, Care & Hunger materials:
- Hygiene products like combs, toothbrushes, floss, and deodorant
- Day-to-day clothing items or winter apparel like coats, shoes, socks, hats, gloves, rain gear, and sleeping bags
- Meals or snacks for your students

Q: Are there any restrictions on which donations are matched?
All new donations to live projects are eligible for this match. Previous donations placed before the match offer's start date will not be matched.

Q: How can I edit my posted project?
If your project has not received any donations, you can make any edits by returning your project to a draft status. You can do this by heading over to the Projects section of your account and clicking on the "Return project to draft" button underneath your project title. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it. Then, it will be re-screened by our team and re-posted if eligible. Read more about editing your project.
