The “amount needed” at the top of your project page refers to the amount a donor would need to give to fully fund a project at the given time, excluding any match offers or promotions.
The “amount needed” will decrease when a project becomes eligible for a match offer, and it will increase when a match offer is removed or no longer available.
This project needs $69 excluding the match offer to be fully funded. If this match offer is removed or no longer available, this amount needed will become $138.
Here’s another example: say you have a project that needs $100 to be fully funded. It becomes eligible for a 2X match; now, the amount needed is $50, because the match will give an extra $50 to reach the full $100. If the match offer is removed or no longer available, the “amount needed” will increase back to $100.
