A Giving Page is a great way to create a branded landing page on DonorsChoose that features classroom projects you and your community want to support.
Create a DonorsChoose Account
To start the Giving Page creation process, log into your account. If you do not have an existing DonorsChoose account, you can create one here.
Start Your Giving Page
Once you’re logged in, click here to create your Giving Page. Choose a title and write your description — the more meaningful, the better! Scroll down and click on the types of projects you’d like to feature. Then click “Proceed to Share Your Giving Page” at the bottom of the page. Don’t worry, you can still edit your title, personal message, URL, photos and project filters after this step.
Pick Projects to Feature on Your Giving Page
You can choose the projects featured on your Giving Page in two ways:
Handpick individual projects
After you’ve created your page, visit any live project page on our site while logged in and click the “Add to Campaign” button on the right side of the page under the teacher’s name. This will add the project to your Giving Page for others to support.
Use a search filter
Log into your account and visit our search page. Select any filters you’d like (for example: high school math & science projects in California) and click “search”. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Use this search for my Giving Page.” This will add all projects that fit this criteria to your Giving Page. When a new project is posted on our site that falls into this category, it’s automatically added to your page.
Note: When the search filter is activated you will not be able to add handpicked projects to your Giving Page.
Make Changes to Your Giving Page
To edit your page, log in and click your name on the top right corner. Select “Campaigns” from the drop down menu and click on the Giving Page you’d like to edit. You’ll then see “edit” buttons appear throughout.
Create a Custom URL
Click “Personalize URL” to create a custom URL for your Giving Page. This URL can be shared with your audience to encourage donations or share the impact you’ve made in classrooms.
Track Your Donations
Click on “View Donations” to see the donation amount each donor has given through your Giving Page:
Track Your Impact
As donations are made to your Giving Page, impact statistics will populate at the top of the page including dollars raised, projects funded, students helped, schools served and teachers supported.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Donors can give to your page in 2 ways:
- Visit your Giving Page, click on a project they’re interested in funding and make a donation directly to that project via the project page.
- Visit your Giving Page, enter a donation amount and click on the green “Give” button at the top of your page. This will randomly select a project from the Giving Page based on urgency and will apply the donation to a project.
The default number of projects is 8, but you can have up to 25 projects listed on your Giving Page.
Your challenge ID is the unique number found in the URL when you first create your Giving Page.
If the project was funded by supporters of your Giving Page, the project will appear on your Giving Page under the funded projects tab. If the project was funded by supporters outside of your Giving Page, the project will be removed from your Giving Page.
You’ll need to archive your Giving Page. Log into the donor account associated with your Giving Page and click on the name that appears on the top right of the page. Click “Campaigns” in the dropdown menu. You’ll see the name of your campaign appear on the page. Click “Archive” under the title and description of your Giving Page. Once you archive the page, supporters will still be able to visit, but there will not be any featured live projects on it. If you’d like to reactivate the page at any time, you can do so by clicking on “Reactivate” at the top of the page while logged into your account.
After 30 days without any activity, your Giving Page will automatically archive, however you can easily reactivate it by clicking on “Reactivate” at the top of the page while logged into your account.
Please allow 15 minutes for our system to refresh with those changes. If you still aren’t seeing those changes applied to your Giving Page please contact our customer support team.
- Choose an image that is a nice backdrop — not its own primary subject matter.
- Avoid including text or logos in the cover photo. They will most likely be obscured by the text or cut off by resizing.
- Crop an image to (1200 x 400) or (2400 x 800) pixels. Images of these sizes will appear in full.
Sharing your Giving Page on social media is a great way to drive traffic. Using your social channels to shout out your favorite projects from your page, setting funding goals and creating a sense of urgency are all effective ways to engage your network.
The individual who controls the DonorsChoose account can manage the Giving Page. If more than one person would like to add projects they will need to sign in using the email and password associated with the account.
