How do I help other teachers use DonorsChoose.org?

Helping another teacher post a project on DonorsChoose.org is the ultimate pay-it-forward! Here are some tips on how you can encourage teachers to get on board with DonorsChoose.org:

  • Spread the word – use this awesome outreach flier to let teachers know about DonorsChoose.org. You can even put your name at the top in case anyone has questions and they don’t know who to go to.  Share this link with teachers who are going to attend so they can set up an account ahead of time.
  • Be prepared – make sure your audience has a project idea ready, and they have a classroom photo ready to upload so they can get started right away! Set aside some time to avoid distractions, and make sure you have access to a computer with internet.
  • Walk them through the process – our outreach slides provide an overview of our organization, as well as a step-by-step look at submitting a project. Feel free to edit this and make it your own. Spend the last half hour of your session helping your trainees create their own project. If you'd like flyers, handouts or pamphlets,  let us know and we'll do our best to send them over within a few weeks.
  • Follow up – keep in touch with the teachers you train and celebrate when their projects are funded.  You can also join our teacher Facebook community to share the awesome work you’re doing and get ideas from fellow educators.

Thanks for everything you do to help more teachers get the resources they need for their classroom! If you'd like to get more involved with more ways to volunteer for DonorsChoose.orglet us know.
