Shabby Chic:

Vetting classroom projects

Ever wonder how projects get posted on Before every classroom project is posted and publicly searchable on, trained teacher volunteers screen the project. These teacher volunteers verify that the teacher and the project meet our eligibility requirements, and follow-up with any questions or concerns.

When a project is funded, purchases the materials directly from the vendor and has them shipped directly to the school.

After the materials are used, teachers provide feedback to donors, called a thank-you package. They share digital photos of the project in action (posted on our site), an impact letter describing how the materials were used (posted on our site), and student thank-yous (mailed to donors who are eligible to request them - usually, those who give $50 or more).

Pretty cool, right? Learn more about how it all works.
