Whenever you move to a new school or campus location, please update your DonorsChoose account to ensure you are associated with the correct school. That way, you will stay informed about any funding opportunities that become available for your new school. See the quick steps below for updating your account with a new school:
1. Sign in to your account.
2. Click on your name in the upper right, then select "Teaching Details" in the drop-down
3. Click the "Update school information" button.
4. Click the "I'm at a different school" button.
5. Use our search tool to select your new school.
- Your school's name may be slightly different in our system. We recommend searching by zip code, common name abbreviations, and city to isolate your school
- Ensure the address for the school you select is accurate, especially if your school has a common name.
Can't find your school and know it meets our eligibility criteria? Click on the "Still don't see your school?" link in the yellow pop-up and submit a request to add a school to our database.
6. Confirm that your school information is correct and click "Save changes".
All live projects will then display your new school's name. Materials for fully funded projects that have not yet been ordered will be sent to the new school address. If you no longer need the items requested in any of your active projects, you can remove these projects through your teacher account. Learn more.
If you've had projects funded at your previous school, please review our policy on ownership of materials funded through our site.
Important Note
The DonorsChoose team may update your school to Teaching Details → Update School Information if there is a report that you are no longer teaching at your previous school. You can update your school at any point from within the Teaching Details section of your DonorsChoose account.
If you have any live projects at that time, they will also be paused, and we will send you an email requesting details about your new school. Be sure to respond to this email from our team so your projects can be unpaused. If you are unable to locate the email from our team, please reach out via our Contact Form.
