Projects should be submitted for the current school year, though you are welcome to submit a virtual trip project over the summer for the coming school year if you confirm the following:
- You're teaching at the same school in the fall.
- You know exactly how many students will participate, or the cost isn't dependent on the number of students. DonorsChoose can't cover an increase in cost due to additional participants.
- The trip takes place between 2 and 8 months from the date you create the project. This is our year-round guideline for trip timelines and ensures there's enough time the project to seek funding that you and your students can provide prompt follow-up for donors.
Feel free to contact our team if you have any questions as you plan your virtual trip.
Please note: Out of an abundance of care for the safety of our teachers and students, and in accordance with the most recent recommendations from the CDC, DonorsChoose will not support trip and visitor projects with in-person or travel components until further notice. You can still submit a virtual class trip or class visitor project! Check out our help center for more details.
