Updated November 13th at 10:54am ET: 50% of funds remain!
On November 13th, while funds last, qualifying projects will receive a 2X match on new donations. That means a $20 donation will become a $40 donation, and so on.
If your project meets the criteria below, new donations on your project will be matched as long as funding remains. Once your project is approved and live on the site, you will see the match offer displayed on your project page.
How to qualify:
- Have a live, approved project for STEM materials on our site by November 13th, 2024. If you haven’t created a project yet, click the “Create your project” button below to submit your STEM project.
- Your project must use the STEM subject area. You can select this subject area when you create your project.

Frequently Asked Questions
Credit card, PayPal, account credit, and gift card donations to live projects are eligible for this match. Donations via check and donor-advised fund (DAF) will not be matched due to processing time. Previous donations placed before the match offer’s start date will not be matched. Please note, the match offer is not active for donations during Friends and Family Pre-Funding (the period when our team is reviewing projects).
While STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, teachers of any subject can qualify for this project, so long as their project is focused on STEM. For past matches we've seen elementary teachers request gardening supplies, librarians request books about animals, art teachers request makerspace kits, and so much more!
If you’re a teacher new to DonorsChoose, then you’ll need to register an account before you can create a project. Once you’ve created your project, you need to submit it to our volunteer review team. Most projects are reviewed and posted within five days of being submitted. Once our team has approved your project, then it’s live and ready to receive donations! All projects that are approved before November 13th will receive the match.
We’re aiming to make sure that as many projects as possible that were submitted before November 13th, 2024 are approved in time for this match. It often takes 5 days for a project to be screened, and it may take longer during this busy time of year. We recommend submitting your project ASAP for the best chance at getting it approved in time!
As long as your project uses the STEM subject area, it will qualify for the match.
If your project is approved on our site, you’re all set! On November 13th, you should see a 2X indicator on your project, showing that all donations you receive that day will be matched. If the 2X indicator is not on your project, then you don’t have the match. Any of your older STEM projects that are already approved will also be eligible, so long as they do not expire before November 13th.
