2X Match on projects from schools serving military communities, thanks to Craig Newmark Philanthropies

Starting Veterans Day, Craig Newmark Philanthropies is making it even easier to support schools serving military communities. Projects from public schools that are on military bases, schools that report to the Department of Defense, and schools in districts where 20% or more of the student population have parents serving in the military (as reported by the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools), are eligible to receive one-to-one matched donations from Craig Newmark Philanthropies. JROTC classroom projects are also eligible.

Here’s how to qualify:

  • Your school is classified as serving military communities on DonorsChoose.org.  You can see this designation on any project page you created (or any teacher at your school created), under your classroom photo:

  • Create a project for anything your students need and be sure to describe your students and/or the impact within your military-impacted community.

Create your project

If your project meets the criteria above, you should see the match offer applied to your project as soon as it’s approved and live on the site (however, it won’t appear during Friends and Family Pre-funding). New donations will be matched one-to-one as long as funding remains.
